Persian Series

The Persian Series (2010 – 2011) is Sudi's intimate dialogue with the visual heritage of her homeland. Working in mixed media on layered grounds of Persian carpet and miniature imagery, she sets traditional motifs - calligraphy, the talismanic hand, mounted warriors, veiled lovers, candles, pomegranates - into contemporary collisions of color, geometry, and emotion.

Each piece moves between celebration and lament: the ecstasy and possession of love, the masks lovers wear, the rivalries that haunt devotion, and the violence of war that recurs across centuries. By weaving classical Persian iconography with her own painterly and conceptual language, Sudi honors a culture she carries within her while questioning the human patterns - desire, power, sorrow, and resilience - that transcend any single tradition.
